Can we get a weekend without thunderstorms in the forecast ?

Would like to plan something.

Me too! We can't even get ONE DAY without thunderstorms in the forecast, let alone a weekend! But I must say, with all the instability in the atmosphere if you got up early enough and were careful, you could probably stay up until the over-development got too... well, over-developed. I know the cloud cover has been making me salivate starting about 10am most days, with cloud streets heading off in every direction as far as the eye can see. There have been at least 8 or 9 days in the last two weeks that I've thought, wow, give me 1500ft. and I think even pitiful little old me could stick and/or go long! At least it's been fun to think about.
I just found out that I am expected to be at the Banker family reunion on Saturday the 13th, so that will probably be the EPIC day for airtime.
We'll keep watching, we're bound to get at least a break, when enough of us can make it out and make it happen! I'm more than ready.

Of course the forecast looks shitty, because earlier this week I got the permission to go flying any day this weekend.

If you guys wanna try for an early start and make something out of it before it over-develops, I'd be a go. And getting home early would please the wife, win-win.

I flew my trike on Tuesday, by the way. Only a few feet of the ground just down Rick's runway, practicing ground handling and getting a feel for the trim and the sensitivity. Didn't dare to take it any higher as there is ZERO bail-out room and my trike climbs ssslllloooowwwww. So the real flights my have to happen at Wesmar or somewhere with much more room. It also needs some more work as we discovered some weak spots in the process.

Anyways, anyone wanting to try get together this weekend early and be ready to start towing by 10am? I sure would love to see what 4000' of line can get us on scooter tow!

EDIT:

Actually, there's only 30% chance on SCATTERED t-storms on Saturday, and 10% Sunday. That's the same kind of "shitty" forecast we've had on all those days when it looked epic in the sky. Those are chance I'd be happy to take!

A lot of the time thunderstorms in the weather prediction means it is going to overdevelop somewhere.

If the chance of rain is 20% or so I'd say that day is on.

We flew quite a bit in the rain in Oregon.

I'm in either day this weekend if we have a way to get airborne. Sadly Friday is out since I happily have work scheduled. I'm pretty sure Patrick is out of town this weekend. But if we can get enough interest, I think James tow system will fit my hitch receiver. Let's do something!

I'm in, just need to know what time and where! I'll try to get ahold of James tomorrow to see if he might be interested too. I'm ready to get in the air!

I am back from Greenpoint early. I flew there once but did not soar because the wind was SSW even at 19 mph for a ridge oriented West. There were lots of locals and no one else flew. So we came back last night. I am in for tomorrow but will have the electric car and will have to be back by 5.
