Weekend = Rain
Just hung up with Kent, and here's the plan: let's meet at 9am at Kent's mom's so 1/ Patrick can charge his car and 2/ we can decide where to go.

Option 1: Cruzan airstrip, which is West East grass strip, 3000' allows for scooter tow only, max expected altitude 800-maybe a 1000'

Option 2: the "new" E 500 N road between 200 and 100, which is a N-S road, roughly 5000', scooter or static tow, max expected altitude ???? the most we've ever got on non-aerotow.

Option 3: The fairgrounds: N-S strip, 3000', scooter tow only, max alt 800 - maybe a 1000', has amenities.

Forecast shows the day will start out with SSW wind, slowly turning to SWW by 5pm, 8 mph.
70% cloud cover in the am, ending in 50% cloud cover in the afternoon,
30% chance of scattered T-storms all day long.
Temps in high 70's, low 80's.

I bet if you took a still photo of one of those HD videos with your glider (or whoever) all close up with one of those windmills
and sent it to the mag they'd publish it. Or maybe make the centerfold..

The Windfall area was made for hang glider towing! Now if we could just talk one of the fine farmers in the area into planting a whole field in hay, then we'd have something! Not sure we'll be able to use this particular road anymore until the crops come out this fall since the beans will soon be too tall to avoid. All in all a great day to be out with good people. Five pilots out on one day is hard to beat, and we all seem to want to continue this trend. Kent provided tows for James, Patrick, Michal, and myself, and then took a flight himself. Not sure who had flight of the day as most were just extended sled runs. I'll post the few pictures I took in a gallery called Windfall. Not sure how to post a link to it here, so you'll just have to go find it!! Thanks for a great day out guys!

I'm sadden to report that out of all the videos I recorded only two weren't corrupted, Kim's flight and mine 2 second launch when the line broke. Kim, I'll upload yours later tonight.

Michal was kind enough to send me the link to the video from my flight yesterday in Windfall. However there is a disclaimer that I personally would like to issue before you watch it. I in no way, through my actions portrayed in the following video endorse the abuse or misuse of any type of hang glider during the landing portion of any flight. I'm sorry to any hang glider fans, manufacturers, and owners who are offended by my actions. I really am trying to change, thank you for your time! Teehee!
