Weekend = Rain
I could do Sunday again if there is enough interest! Saturday is the Banker family reunion(Oh, yay). Mom is looking forward to it, otherwise it would be missed by this Banker! Do you think James would be up for another Sunday? Just giving him a heads up early so he can rethink his Saturday night!

I think I'll be up for it. I actually had some work this week.

I'll try to get my gear in a little better shape.

Maybe I'll drag out the Aeros Discus.

I'm in for Sunday. Kent, you cannot wait to do it again. What does you Sunday look like?

I am unsure about Sunday as I might be going to Goshen on Saturday evening to babysit my granddaughter. I could do Friday or Saturday until about 5:00 both days. But don't let me change your plans. If you have three you have enough with the static line. Today looked like a good one, with the big cumulus clouds everywhere.

I could do Saturday or Sunday but I think Kim can only do Sunday. Still hope you can make it if you are not going to Goshen

I can't do Saturday now so you all go for Sunday. Transmission in truck locked in park position.

I arrived at Tipton now in the camper. Thanks Kent. James has a job to do tomorrow morning: he should be done by moon, but will call Kim when he is done. I will go to the West end of East-West road in Tipton around noon and start setting things up.

I was out of town Saturday overnight. Arrived at the tow road about 5:00 pm and was happy to see Kim up, from about two miles away, circling. He landed just before I drove up. Patrick had flown before I arrived and gained about 1000' after releasing and had somewhere around 20 minutes. James flew and was finding some zero areas, but no real lift. All the tows looked smooth that I witnessed. I'll let details come from Patrick, Kim and James. Between static towing and scooter tow, we have been out two Sunday's in a row. We are getting it going in central Indiana and we will see some great flying day's ahead.

Tipton is the capital of electric hang gliding. After Windfall and it windmills, here is towing with an electric car. James is right, we should find a way to put the windmills and a hang glider in the same frame, and maybe and electric car too: cutting edge! to be sent to Hang Gliding and Paragliding magazine.
More prosaically, the opportunity to fly again (and to get all three in the frame since winds will be North) is next week end. To wrap up the thread here is next Saturday/Sunday forecast: Week end=no rain. Who's in?

P. S. about last week end: Kim, James and I each got two flights. I found two thermals: the first one was hard to localize and seemed to be a collection of air bubbles taking off between shadow and sun and got me about 1000 ft above releasing. The second North of the road above a hay field with cows helped stay a up a little longer. The winch dropped to the ground, but thank you Bill Bryden, was intact (only the wood frame and battery switch container and battery connectors were damaged) as I had neglected to take out the loops from the line and to shorten the bolts. Once back in the trunk, it worked well until I jammed it trying to wind up too close to the edges of the spool. It will surely be ready to go by Saturday.
