June 14th flying?
So considering this Sunday is Fathers day, I'm assuming Saturday will be the choice for attempting to commit aviation? What is everyone else thinking? After a week off, I'm ready to get out and up. Early reports are saying Saturday will be ESE 7-11mph. which would make Cruzan field doable. Lets get the talk going so that hopefully we can get a group together so maybe some of the new guys can come out! Go, go, go!

I'm bringing my harness with me to Indiana so that if I do end up showing up I may have a chance of borrowing one you guys' wing. Still unclear if I'll be able to make it. If I would be able, it would definitely be Saturday.

Actually, I cannot do Saturday because of prior commitment with my son's Boys Scout troop. I could do Sunday, but the wind should be South which would mean Windfall. What do others want to do?

Well. Here is the situation. Kim and maybe James and maybe Michal would be available to fly on Saturday. Kim, Patrick and James and maybe Michal are available on Sunday. So we are going Sunday because it is the day with the most yeses and the least maybes. And the wind makes it be Windfall. David has friends in town both days and is not available. He is heading North to Wisconsin on Monday for days and days of flying to get his aerotow rating.

Sounds like the right call.

My son's birthday party is next weekend, the weekend after that I'm going to Czech rep for a couple of weeks, the next available weekend for me might be towards the end of July.

Hope you guys keep the flying going and get your legendary flights of the year 😜

I will be much more free and flexible after June is past. Will be back to normal schedule driving. I still have not made a trip home to Tipton. I hope you all have a good day Sunday.

We miss you Kent. Come back from time to time. Why do so many people want RVs during flying season? Tents, they should get tents. They don't burn any gas. Gas is too cheap!
I am glad you will be able to make it in July. I will be away the second week end. Michal will be in the Czeck Rebublic. You are welcome to use my rig and if you go to Cruzan, my foldable bike to bring back the line. Last week, we left some marks with the cars (we drove on the sides) but I bet Bob must not have liked it.

June 14th flying?
There was flying indeed. But it was a half blown-up day. We actually went to the Offendorf Road between 246th and 256th, just West South West of Cruzan, and got to meet with the owner of the house on the North end. Kim and James got his name, but as I was setting up, I joined the conversation in the middle. The man told us who the field owners are, basically the farm on the South West and North East of the road. It was worth it. We now have another site. I get to claim the privilege of pioneering it. I flew first then: wind was 7 to 15 mph due South, so I towed perhaps at 1300-1400 feet (the vario this time was on the glider but not on). As expected, not much lift with this wind. James went next, was heading for the sky climbing pretty fast, pushing... when the line broke. It took us a good hour to get it off the field and spliced. By that time the wind had grown stronger with gusts up to 20. Kim decided not to go, given the wind and few chances to get some lift. So that was it.
