Looking at the weather, it should be possible to get airborne tomorrow. Wind should be extra light 1-3 mph mostly East but veering NE to SSE. Two complications: with this East component, we cannot use the Sheridan road as it would send us to a tree. Also, Kim is not available, which complicates how we can get organized. Anyone interested?

Patrick and I went to Wesmar Saturday, we arrived a little to late for any lift it was glassy smooth a good day for practice. I had 3 good landings and 2-3 not so good landings there was zero wind it was a running landings I just couldnt keep up with the glider sometimes but wasnt terrible landings and didnt bend or break anything and it made me feel a little better about my couple not so perfect landings when I saw a couple other pilots landing like me. I was going to aero towing and get that rating but wanted to get used to the glider more. I have gotten a good feel for the glider now it flys good. I may get a newer glider in 2-3 years. Last time I was there before this time the wind was blowing and the landings where great. still I had fun.

Saturday was difficult to organize flying locally as Kim was not available and our gas car was needed to drive my son to and from his scout camp at odd hours, so Bob and I decided to car pool to Wesmar dropping off my so on the way. Bob did 6 or 7 scooter tow flights half of them foot launching without problem. We had close to no wind so the comet tended to stall one wing before the other when landing and Bob is trying to get a better feel about when to flare with his wing. When we arrived, thermals were shutting down. I aerotowed to 2000 zeroed a little bit but did not stick like pilots who flew in the morning. Happy to have one aerotow under my belt this year as I had not ATed for a year and a half.

I would like to add, I very much enjoyed the day talking with Patrick our accents are very much different sometimes difficult our piloting and aviation interests are simular. I think him and I got of on a good foot and should become good friends. Your alright Patrick. I cant wait to meet and fly with the others soon.

This is the last Saturday that I won't be available. The Banker family reunion is Sat. the 18th from noon till ? and I personally am looking sooo forward to spending a day with a 106 degree heat index in an outside shelter at the local park... If ya'll believe that, I also have a few tracts of land down on the Florida coast that I'd be willing to sacrifice at a very reasonable price.
If Sunday the 19th turns out flyable, I am available, and should be from now on unless something unforeseen comes up. I know I'm usually available but these last couple weeks have been an anomoly.
